Barry And The Remains
The 2010 Boston Music Awards' "Hall Of Fame" inductees, Barry And The Remains remain
the most influential Boston band of the 1960s due to performances on the Ed Sullivan
show and multiple stints opening for the Beatles as well as for their classic contributions
to the pop rock canon with singles such as, "Don't Look Back" and "Heart".
Jenny Dee And The Deelinquents
Modern day Spector/Girl group, Jenny Dee And The Deelinquents' release Keeping Time
was met with great critical acclaim in 2010. The band performed in France, Canada,
throughout the states and opened for J. Geils Band and Aerosmith at Fenway Park.
M-Dot
East Boston based, M-Dot's 2010 release MPC won Boston Phoenix's was enough
to net the artist the coveted, Best Rap Act Of The Year Award by the Boston
Phoenix.
DOM
Worcester based, DOM released dance infused indie EP Sun Bronzed Greek Gods
to great national acclaim. Featured in Pitchfork, the band went on to tour nationally
with Ratatat.
Mystery Roar
A favorite of college kids and local DJs, Mystery Roar's 80s inspired synth-wave
had them packing dance floors locally and scoring coveted opening slots with Soul
Clap and Neon Indian.
Kingsley Flood
Their 2010 release, Dust Windows, topped roots and folk rock download charts this
year. Credit that to an NPR feature on the band and a triumphant run at this year's
CMJ.
Gozu
Quite simply the best Metal band to come out of Boston since, well… ever. Gozu released
their debut album this summer and have been packing clubs up and down the east coast
ever since.
Kon
An international DJ who calls Boston his home, in 2010, Kon saw his fan base grow
from inside the 128 beltway to the clubs of Miami, Belize, Montreal, London and
Paris.
